Forum Rules
1. The most important rule we have is respect. Do not do anything which may disrespect or offend another member of the forums in any way. Examples include but are not limited to:
* Flaming, being rude, or just intentionally being mean to other users.
* Swearing, acronyms which include swearing, or vulgar language.
* Opinions on subjects like religion and politics which could be deemed offensive toward someone of different beliefs.
* Accusing people of lying, cheating, or anything similar.
* Begging for things from others; although not disrespectful in itself, it is rude to them to keep asking for things.
* Never use another member's signature, avatar, or under banner without first asking him and receiving his permission to use it. Unless it's a 'Follower of...' image.
* Clan Friends are prohibited from entering a TDC Event Channel on our IRC server unless they have been invited. Joining an Event Channel will result in an immediate 3 day chat ban.
2. When posting, make sure your topic, or post has meaning. This is fairly self explanatory, but examples of poor posting are:
* Posting in another language. Only English is to be spoken here.
* Spamming: posting the same topic or reply over and over, bumping topics, and posts that do not relate to the topic at hand.
* Posting topics or making posts about your post count. Bragging about post count just clogs up the forums and they are pointless.
* Posting in the wrong board.
* Posting a duplicate topic or one very similar to an existing topic (does not apply to market).
* Double posting in a topic, even if it is not bumping; you should use the edit button instead.
* Posting in ALL CAPS.
* Posting malicious content on the forums like spyware or viruses.
* Backseat moderating. Instead of posting telling users that they broke rules, use the report button to report the post to a moderator.
* No more than one spoiler in a signature or post is allowed. Spoilers are here for a specific purpose, such as hiding the answers to an important question details from a guide walkthrough.
3. There are certain things on the forums that are not to be discussed or asked for. Most are fairly obvious, but some may not be. They are:
* Staff issues, these should never be discussed with non-staff, regardless of whether you or the other person is former staff.
* Any kind of material that is inappropriate for our age range; there are people under 13 here.
* Asking for new forums and categories is not allowed. We will decide when and if we need a new forum. We will almost never accept requests for new forums.
* Asking to be given a new rank or put in a new usergroup is not allowed.
4. All national and international laws apply to this forum. Some examples are:
* Copyright infringement.
* Any type of filesharing discussion.
* Any form of plagiarism, including taking another users signature or avatar.
* Discussion or pictures of illegal drug use or under-age smoking or drinking.
5. Advertising other sites and outside linking is not allowed. The following are the only exceptions:
* RuneScape videos in the Wilderness board or the Music / Video board.
* If you are in the IRC, you must ask a moderator to approve links such as Images/Videos/Websites via PM. GlobalGamingHQ, Zybez and Jagex links don't need to be approved.
* You may have an outside link in your homepage field on your profile, however, it must not link to another RuneScape site or site which breaks any of T.E.H's rules. Note: The following sites are never allowed to be linked to even in the locations mentioned above:
o Ebaumsworld
o Newgrounds
o kontraband
o Albino Blacksheep
o Fat-pie
o Nearlygood
o Funnyjunk
o Metacafe
o Megaupload
o Other sites featuring people in various stages of undress or that would be considered inappropriate for small children.
* Links to other GlobalGamingHQ sites are allowed.
* Links to RuneScape.com or Jagex.com are allowed.
* Links to automatically attack other members are not allowed.
6. TDC has general rules that do not fall into any other category:
* Making multiple forum accounts or using someone else's forum account is not allowed. You are only allowed to have and use a single forum account.
7. All RuneScape rules apply to this board. They can be found here if you need to read them: Jagex Rules. In addition to Runescape rules, we also do not allow discussion of any RuneScape clients that are not endorsed by Jagex or RuneHQ.
Signature and Avatar Rules
1. Signatures have the following limits:
* Signatures must follow all of the forum rules, including the rules about links.
* The total combined filesize of your signature and avatar cannot exceed 90kb.
* The size of your signature, in pixels, cannot exceed 300 pixels tall, and 640 pixels wide. The width limit does not include text, however, the height limit does.
* With a spoiler in your signature, the text and images in the entire signature (so, including items outside the spoiler) may not exceed 500 pixels in height with the spoiler open.
2. Avatars have the following limits:
* Avatars must follow all of the forum rules.
* Avatars can be up to 100 pixels by 100 pixels or less, and if your avatar is over the size limit, will be resized to fit.
* Avatars must be 10kb or smaller, and if your avatar is over the limit, it will be resized to fit.
Communication Between the Staff and You
* Our rules are something we take seriously, and if you break them there will be consequences. These will range anywhere from a friendly PM from a staff member reminding you of the rules to a warning, and possibly a ban from the forums depending on the severity of the rule broken and how many previous offenses you have had. If you have a question about the rules, please check the FAQs or feel free to contact any member of our staff.
* If you have any problems feel free to consult the staff of the site. It's often a good idea to check with the people who work in the area you have a problem or question about.
* If you have a problem with a staff member or a discipline you receive, please contact an administrator with your issue and they will take care of it. In other situations, please refrain from contacting the admins if at all possible.
* The staff communicates through forum PMs. Normally if a staff member PMs you it is important, so please read the PMs you receive from them.
